MISSION, AS ESTABLISHED IN DECREE-LAW NO. 12/2018, OF 16 FEBRUARY:
- Integration of public policies with effects:
- on the accumulation of vegetable fuel
- the behaviour of the population
- the activities of SGIFR agents
- Knowledge management (Colab, Forestwise), specialisation and professionalisation of SGIFR agents
- Monitoring, evaluation of prevention and combat activities and continuous improvement processes
- Drawing up and monitoring the National Integrated Rural Fire Management Plan
- Qualified support in high-risk events
- To be the unifying and mobilising body that will align and guide everyone towards the same national goal: protecting Portugal from serious rural fires.
PURPOSE
Ensure the implementation and operation of the SGIFR to protect people and natural and built heritage in the face of serious rural fires.
